Signs it needs diagnosing
  • Won't power on, or won't charge
  • Cuts out under load, over bumps or in the wet
  • Lost power or top speed
  • Error code on the display or in the app
  • Grinding, whining or clicking from the motor
  • Runs hot, or the range has dropped
How we diagnose

We start with the simple, common causes first: connectors, loom, kill switch and brake cut-off, throttle, and the state of the battery.

Then we test the motor, sensors and controller properly, rather than swapping parts and hoping.

You get a written diagnosis and a costed repair quote. On e-moto fault diagnosis, the fee comes off the repair if you go ahead.

Questions we get asked

What does diagnosis cost?

E-moto fault diagnosis is £59 for the first hour, then £65/hr. It includes a written diagnosis and repair quote, and the fee comes off the repair if you go ahead. Motor diagnostics and e-bike electrical diagnosis are £49. Controller and wiring fault-finding is billed at the hourly rate with a cap agreed up front.

Can you repair my battery?

We test batteries in-house with a full load test of real capacity plus cell-balance and BMS checks, and give you a printed health report (£45). For fire-safety reasons we don't open lithium packs on site. If a pack can be repaired, we send it to an approved specialist for cell or BMS work, then refit and retest it (£29 handling plus the specialist's quote).

My Sur-Ron battery display has failed. Is the battery bad?

Not necessarily. We check it is only the screen, then send the battery through Sur-Ron UK's official repair route with factory tooling and retest it when it returns (£139).

Will you remove the speed limit on my road-legal bike?

No. We only work on EAPC e-bikes to UK rules (250 W, 15.5 mph) and will not derestrict road e-bikes or road-registered e-motos. Performance upgrades are for off-road bikes used on private land only, with a signed waiver.

Should I get a used bike inspected before buying?

Yes, it is the cheapest insurance there is. A pre-purchase inspection (£79 e-moto, £59 e-bike) gives you a written report, battery certificate and repair estimate, and it is refunded if you buy from our used stock.
