1. Who we are
John Stainsby trading as RJSXtreme, a sole trader based in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Our full postal address is given on your order confirmation or on request. Email: [email protected]. Phone: 07831 444041.
In these terms, “we” and “us” means RJSXtreme and “you” means the customer.
2. Independent specialist
We are an independent specialist. We are not an official, authorised or appointed Sur-Ron, Talaria, RFN or E RIDE PRO dealer, distributor or agent, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by either manufacturer. Sur-Ron, Light Bee, Talaria, Sting and Komodo are trademarks of their respective owners.
3. Buying accessories online
- Checkout. Accessory payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe’s secure checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
- The contract. Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when your payment is confirmed and you receive a confirmation from Stripe or from us. If we can’t supply an item (for example, it is out of stock or does not fit the bike you told us about), we’ll tell you and refund you in full.
- Price and delivery. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout, including the delivery charge for your region. Accessories are shipped direct from our supplier, typically in 7–12 working days to a UK address. These are estimates, not guarantees. If an order is badly delayed, contact us and you can cancel for a full refund.
- Delivery outside the UK. We deliver accessories to the 27 EU countries (£9.95, typically 7–20 working days) and to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland (£12.95, typically 10–20 working days). Choose your region before you buy, because each region's checkout only accepts addresses in that region. A few items (those with batteries, bulky items and one UK stock line) are UK delivery only, and this is shown on the item.
- Import duties and taxes. Prices and delivery charges for orders outside the UK do not include import VAT, customs duty, local sales taxes or carrier handling fees. You pay these, and the carrier may collect them before delivery. If you refuse a parcel because of these charges, we refund the item price once it comes back to our supplier but not the delivery charge or any return costs. Stripe may show the price in your local currency, and any conversion is made by Stripe at checkout.
- Fitment. Fitment is listed per item. Where a listing says fitment will be confirmed, we check it before dispatch and contact you if there’s a problem. If you’re not sure, ask us before you buy.
4. Your 14-day right to cancel (online and distance orders)
If you buy from us online, by phone or by email without visiting us, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to change your mind.
- You can cancel at any time from placing your order until 14 days after the day you receive the goods. You don’t have to give a reason.
- To cancel, email [email protected] with your name, order details and a clear statement that you are cancelling.
- Send the goods back within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling. Unless we agree otherwise, you pay the cost of returning them. We’ll give you the return address when you contact us. For orders delivered outside the UK, returning an item can cost more than the item itself, so please ask us about fitment before you buy. If you live outside the UK, you also keep any rights your local consumer law gives you.
- We refund the price and the standard delivery charge you paid, using the payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or proof you have sent them, whichever is sooner).
- You may handle goods as you would in a shop to check them. If they have been used, fitted, damaged or handled beyond that, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss in value.
- The right to cancel does not apply to goods made or modified to your specification, or to sealed items that can’t be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
This right also applies if you agree to buy a bike at a distance (for example, by email and bank transfer with delivery to you) without visiting us. It does not apply to a purchase made in person at our premises.
5. Faulty, damaged or wrong items
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If something is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered:
- within 30 days of delivery you can reject it for a full refund;
- after 30 days we’ll repair or replace it, and if that doesn’t work you can have a refund (which may be reduced for use after the first six months);
- we cover reasonable return costs for faulty or wrong items.
Please email us with your order details and photos of the problem.
6. New-bike reservations and sales
- Reserving is free and isn’t a contract. The reservation form is an expression of interest. No payment is taken through it, and neither of us is committed by sending it.
- Before you pay anything, we’ll confirm in writing the model, colour, price, any deposit (how much, whether and when it is refundable), the expected delivery or collection date and the warranty.
- The contract is formed when we confirm your order in writing and you pay any agreed deposit. Delivery dates depend on supplier allocation and are estimates. If we can’t supply the bike you ordered, you get any money you’ve paid back in full.
- Warranty: the warranty for each bike, and how to claim, is set out in writing at the point of sale. It is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them.
7. Used bikes and part-exchange
- Used bikes are sold as described, after a workshop inspection. We’ll tell you about any known faults, wear or history before you buy.
- Your consumer rights apply to used bikes. Satisfactory quality takes into account the bike’s age, use and price.
- Part-exchange valuations are given subject to inspection. You must own the bike you offer, it must not be stolen or subject to finance, and you must give us any keys and documents.
8. Workshop and repairs
- Quote first. We quote before we start and don’t do chargeable work you haven’t approved. If we find more work is needed, we’ll ask you first.
- Prices. Fixed-price items are charged as listed on our workshop page. Other work is charged at our hourly labour rate in 15-minute units. Parts are extra unless stated.
- Workmanship is guaranteed for 3 months. Parts carry their own manufacturer warranty, and your legal rights to services carried out with reasonable care and skill are unaffected.
- Road e-bikes are worked on to UK EAPC rules only (250 W, 15.5 mph assistance). We will not derestrict a road e-bike or a road-registered e-moto.
- Collection. Please collect your bike promptly once we tell you it’s ready. If it isn’t collected within 28 days, we may charge a reasonable storage fee, which we’ll tell you about in advance, and we may take the other steps the law allows for uncollected goods after giving you written notice.
- Please remove valuables from your bike. We’re not responsible for items left with it unless we caused the loss.
9. Performance upgrades
- Performance upgrades are for off-road bikes used on private land only. You’ll be asked to sign a waiver before we fit them.
- Upgrades can affect the manufacturer’s warranty, the durability of parts, and how the bike behaves. We’ll explain this before you decide.
- We may refuse any upgrade we believe is unsafe or is intended for road use.
10. Off-road use only
The Sur-Ron, Talaria, RFN and E RIDE PRO bikes we offer, and any upgrades or accessories we sell for them, are for off-road use only. These bikes are not type-approved, registered or insured for UK public roads. They must not be ridden on roads, pavements, bridleways, footpaths or public land. Ride them only on private land with the landowner’s permission, or at permitted venues. You are responsible for lawful use, suitable protective equipment and, for younger riders, proper supervision.
Demo rides are occasional and by appointment only, on private land, subject to a demo bike being available. Suitable protective gear and a signed rider waiver are required before you ride.
11. Prices, specifications and images
- Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are the total you pay, plus delivery where shown. We may change prices at any time, but not after we have confirmed your order.
- Specifications come from manufacturer or dealer-published data and can change. Items marked “TBC” or “dealer data” are unconfirmed. Images are for illustration. If a detail matters to your decision, ask us to confirm it in writing before you buy.
12. Our responsibility to you
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We supply to consumers for private use. We are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit or loss of business opportunity.
- We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by using a bike unlawfully or in breach of section 10, by modifications made by anyone other than us, or by ignoring the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited, and nothing affects your statutory rights.
13. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with anything, email [email protected] and tell us what happened and what you’d like us to do. We’ll look into it and reply as quickly as we can.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring them in your local courts.
